Party day had arrived…. one very excited birthday boy and 15 friends were about to descend on GOALS Beckenham!
After an initial email, the party was confirmed, and Electronic invites were sent to us, (up to you if you email, text or hand write invites to guests), nearer the party date numbers were confirmed and so were the food choices, birthday boy chose hotdogs and pizza, but other choices including Gluten Free and Vegetarian options were avaliable, automatically vegetable sticks, tortilla chips hummus dips, chips and fresh fruit plates are included, along with unlimited cordial drinks and water, and that was it nothing else to do apart from turn up on the day.
GOALS Beckenham is easy to find nestled on the outskirts of Beckenham itself and Elmers End, as soon as you turn into the car park (with ample parking), you can see pitch after pitch, the car park is immaculate, the signage easy to read, you can tell GOALS has been instantly upgraded.
Into the reception we headed, clean, tidy, fuss free and friendly staff, we knew we were going to be in good hands for the next 2 hours. All checked in, having been taken to see the dining area set up for the birthday tea, the Birthday boy and ourselves (Parents and family) were introduced to our party host Fahad, who checked over our wants/needs for the 1.5 hour football coaching. Guests started arriving and the party got underway, off the children went on to one of the 11 refurbed pitches, 1 hour of football, including warm ups, drills and match. Whilst they were outside burning off energy some of the parents got comfy in the newly refurbed en-trend clubhouse 2020 where you can find the G Cafe both areas offer free wifi teas/coffees, soft drinks and a full bar option is on offer with a very tasty sounding menu. There are table seating areas ideal for those dining or bringing laptops to get on with work, sofa areas for those who want to relax and watch one of the huge flatscreen tv’s, along with bar tables and stools for those who preferred the higher seating level, the whole Clubhouse 2020 looks out on to the 11 pitches, ideal for spectating! Outside there are tables and chairs and also a mini gym area too. Some of the dads went off to practise or relive should I say some there football moves on one of the spare astro pitches, shortly coming in out of breath and heading straight to the bar!
The hour went quickly and before you knew it the children were back inside chatting away about their goals, tackles and passes, the food was bought out as soon as they arrived to the table, the quality and amount surpassed our expectations along with unlimited soft drinks, tables were soon cleared, and out came the ice cream and then, the all important Birthday Cake (loved the fact even this was included in the party package), Happy Birthday was sung and as a parent we were particularly impressed that you got the choice of the children eating it then, or being wrapped and put into the party bags, we went for the later as the children couldn’t wait to get back to the pitch. So off they went for the last 30 minutes, whilst the parents ate, drank and chatted some more.
The final whistle went, the children all had a debrief, and the birthday boy, not only got presented with a trophy (a sturdy one at that), but his own GOALS ball and medal, of which he then handed out to all the party goers. In they came, buzzing and chatting showing off their medals, BUT it wasn’t over yet as they all formed a tidy queue where Fahad and birthday boy then handed out the all important PARTY BAGS! A GOALS bootbag full of goodies and NOT toot! The children were happy, the parents were happy, the Birthday Boy was beyond happy and us as parents, we we were delighted everyone had a great time (it would have been hard not too!), it was one of the easiest parties to arrange and the detail and little touches made it all so much more special.
GOALS is not just for childrens’s party’s! the bar area can also be hired as a party venue, ideal for work do’s, and team building days out. They host bubble football too and have 5 a side leagues and tournaments, worth checking the GOALS brand out as there’s bound to be one near you.
The rebrand and refurb of GOALS has been incredible and has bought the whole venue up a level, we look forward to seeing the rebrand role out over the country. To sum it up the food was fantastic, so was the cleanliness, the decor and comfyness of the clubhouse, the staff were friendly and attentive and the whole experience from booking to the actual party day was completely easy and fuss free.
