Holwood not only has a delightful farm shop, it has a cafe too. A cafe going through some exciting changes as it increases in size and development.
The cafe at Holwood is situated upstairs above the shop, the mezzanine area houses the relaxed seating and local artworks, whilst being able to view the farm shop from above, the other part of the cafe area has more table and chair seating, there is also a large outside area for the sunnier and warmer days.
Holwood offers various cakes and pastries, ideal for elevenses or a sweet afternoon fix. Their lunch menu includes, paninis, sandwiches, salads, platters and homemade soups. All dishes are made to order downstairs at the Deli counter, and then bought to your table.
We can’t wait for the extension to be finished as a new kitchen is being installed, which will mean a more extensive menu to look forward too. Look out for the new butchery department too.
Holwood Farm shop offers a great place to peruse round, priding itself in selling local produce, pretty cards, local brews, unique crockery and houseware, and much more. The farm shop also houses the Deli which sells all sorts of cold cured meats, olives, cheeses and the unusual flavoured scotch eggs, along with a fresh meat counter, and grocery department.
Friday is Fishy Friday at Holwood as the weekly Fish stall selling all kinds of raw and cured fish is set up outside the farm shop entrance.
Relaxed and friendly staff make Holwood a great place to visit for bite to eat, our advice is to take some extra time out to wander around the shop.
