The British Queen

Located in Locksbottom, with ample parking thanks to Sainsbury’s the British Queen gives the feel of a traditional pub but with a modern feel of a gastro pub.

With 3 dining areas to choose from, it caters for all personalities, the garden area for the sunnier days, the more traditional dining room area known as the brassiere for those wanting a dining experience and then the bar area, for a more relaxed and  casual dining affair.

With its emerald coloured walls, quirky wallpaper decor and furnishings , the British Queen has its own unique identity.

Various menus are on offer throughout the day and week, serving traditional foods with a French twist at a reasonable price i.e Salmon and Crab Fishcakes, French Onion Soup, Gammon steak with Duck Egg.

A very set menu is served Monday-Saturday until 6.30pm, two courses for just £11.95 choose from starter, main or dessert. Children are catered for with their own menu for just £6.95, or they can choose selected main dishes on the menu as a half portion. Sunday lunch sees main courses starting from £14.50 with the choice of a starter and or dessert for an added £3.50, why not kick it all off with a Bloody Mary! If you fancy a more relaxed bar dining experience then why not have a nibble on Padron Peppers or Pork Scratchings or choose one of the delicious baguette choices, there’s plenty more dishes to choose from too, and allergy menus are available too. All in all everyone is catered for here at The British Queen.

There’s an extensive wine list along with traditional beers and ales, and if you want a cocktail one can be soon mixed, shaken or stirred up ready for consumption!
